Violin Summer Intensive Registration

The Basics:

  • Prerequisite: Violin makers of all skill levels who have instruments already in progress.

  • Instructor Joe Thrift

  • July 14-19 or July 21-26. Students may also register for both weeks.

  • Foothills School of Violin Making 410 Memorial Park Dr. Elkin, NC 28621

The Details:

  • This workshop is for violin makers with some experience. Bring your in progress violin (no matter what stage) and we’ll work toward finishing it. We’ll also address intricacies with woodworking, varnish, set-up, and tonal adjustments.

  • Violin makers begin at 9 am each day and work until the group comes to a stopping point. 10-12 hour days are common.

Registration Fee: $50

Tuition Cost:

  • $850 for one week or $1,750 for both weeks.

  • Tuition is billed in full once placement is acknowledged.

  • Enrollment confirmation will be given within three (3) business days of registration.

  • Registration fee will be refunded for any student not placed.
